Brad Paisley offers a twisted take on “first” love on ‘The Tonight Show’

Andrew Lipovsky/NBCBrad Paisley was Jimmy Fallon‘s musical guest on Thursday’s The Tonight Show, and also sat down with Fallon to talk about his current your, and he and Carrie Underwood co-hosting their 11th straight CMA Awards show.

Another highlight: Brad treated fans to a previously unreleased song — a twisted take on first romance.

“First date, first kiss/first taste of lovin’/You were my first…cousin,” Brad sang.  “”We got in big trouble/with your dad, my uncle/’Cause you were my first/and I’ll always be your first/And our children will be second…cousins.”

Other things Brad talked about with Jimmy included a pre-show ritual he and his band enjoy while on their current tour: dodgeball. Brad says he and the guys avoid stress by “beat[ing] each other senseless with dodgeballs.”

When Fallon asked how he and Underwood are preparing for the CMA Awards in November, Brad said they’ve been trying to come up with jokes, adding sarcastically, “there’s nothing.”

Later, Brad performed his #1 hit “Water” from his 2009 album, American Saturday Night.

The Brad Paisley Tour 2018 continues with a show at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in New York Friday.
