Miranda Lambert and Dolly Parton re-do “Dumb Blonde” for “Dumplin'”

Sony Music NashvilleMiranda Lambert duets with Dolly Parton on the new version of her first hit, 1966’s “Dumb Blonde,” for the soundtrack of the new Netflix film Dumplin’.

Bluegrass powerhouse Rhonda Vincent, rocker Elle King, pop star Sia, and R&B’s Mavis Staples and Macy Gray join Dolly on the album too, as do the film’s stars, Jennifer Aniston and Danielle MacDonald.

In the movie, MacDonald plays a teen who finds inspiration in Dolly’s music, as she rebels against the beauty pageant culture embraced by her mother, who’s portrayed by Aniston.

The 12-track album includes re-recordings of six Parton classics, as well as six new songs she crafted with writer/producer Linda Perry. The streaming version of the project will include both the original versions and remixes of Dolly’s songs from the movie.

The new song, “Girl in the Movies,” has already been nominated for Best Original Song from a Feature Film at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. It’ll be available to stream or download on November 2.
